Bitter Melon is a restaurant in Toronto's Chinatown, cocktails and small plates that reflect the cultural diversity of the city. Cohere Studio designed it, we built it in Webflow.
The site is almost entirely photography on a deep green ground, with the wordmark stacked vertically in the corner and gold picked out of the room's own lighting. The food and the interiors carry it, so the build's job was to stay out of the way: full-bleed imagery, type kept to a few lines of statement copy, and a horizontal strip of photographs you move through rather than scroll past.
Menus, hours and the food and drink listings run from the CMS, so the restaurant can change a dish without coming back to us. The mobile build collapses the whole thing to a drawer.
