The Service Center is apartments, office and retail in Baltimore's Remington neighbourhood, developed by Seawall. Cohere Studio designed it, we built it in Webflow.
The site runs on a near-black maroon with condensed display type, a script for the section marks, and a set of stamped seals used as accents. Photography is black and white throughout except the seals and the neighbourhood illustration, which is the whole colour budget and is what keeps a dark site from going heavy.
It is a mixed-use building with two audiences, residents and commercial tenants, and the site splits on that early rather than burying one of them. Service Works, the programme connecting residents to local volunteering, gets its own section rather than a line in a list.
